Dr Elisabeta (Letty) Ene graduated from “Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy”, in Bucharest, Romania in 2007. She started her General Paediatric specialist training in Bucharest and continued it in Northern Ireland (2012-2015), completing the final 5 years in the North West Deanery (2015-2020).

She developed an interest in Paediatric Cardiology, focusing on congenital heart disease and completed a special interest module in Paediatric Cardiology in Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool.

She has been a consultant in ELHT since September 2020, splitting her time between Burnley NICU and Paediatric Cardiology work for Royal Blackburn Hospital.

She is the Baby Friendly Initiative Lead Consultant, aiming to work alongside the rest of the dedicated NICU staff, in supporting every single family during their baby’s NICU admission, so that parents feel empowered and confident in caring for their baby, being welcomed and involved in the decision making process at every step of the NICU journey.
