We provide high quality healthcare services primarily to the residents of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, which have a combined population in the region of 530,000.
The new building has a 32-bedded inpatient ward on the first floor and outpatient clinics and other services on the ground floor, including:
The In-patient service is available for people who meet the criteria for admission. The Out-patient facility will see any age of patients requested by the consultants.
The Outpatients Department includes Consultant services within Orthopaedics, Urology, Vascular, Medicine, Ophthalmology, fields test clinics and Paediatric services. Other specialities include Podiatry, Leg Ulcer care and management, Retinal screening, Cardiac rehabilitation, Continence, Audiology, Heart failure and Diabetic nursing service including Diabetic Dietician, Elderly Medicine and Memory Clinics.
Outpatient services will operate Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 6pm.
The Children's playroom is available on request.
The new Ribblesdale Ward has 16 individual bedrooms and there are an additional 4x4 bedded bays which are designed to be converted into single bedrooms if required. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms and a view over the local scenery. Ribblesdale Ward is designed with dementia friendly principles and has disabled access throughout. The ward is designed to give a homely feeling for all who stay and facilities include a dining area, a large day room and an outdoor patio.
Three physiotherapy teams will be based at the new hospital – inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary physiotherapy. Physiotherapists will provide individual and group therapy including manual therapy, electrotherapy and educational sessions benefiting from access to diagnostic services and other multidisciplinary teams based in the building.
The current Outpatient Physiotherapy Service based at Clitheroe Physiotherapy Centre, New Market Street, Clitheroe, will relocate into the new hospital.
A modern, digitally-enhanced x-ray facility will continue to provide imaging facilities for patients. A new ultrasound unit has also recently opened.
Visiting times for the Ribblesdale Ward are from 2pm - 8pm (tea-time is 4.40pm to 5.45pm)
However, different visiting times can sometimes be accommodated prior to arrangements with nursing staff.
