We know our health care family have always gone above and beyond the call of duty, and we've seen that more than ever during the COVID crisis. We have been contacted by many current or former health care professionals who for personal or financial reasons want to support the vaccination programme but do not want to be paid for their work. If this is you, please email via iwanttohelp@elht.nhs.uk to find out how you can help.

Have you recently left the NHS and are considering supporting the COVID-19 work? Would you like to do some temporary work in addition to your normal job or responsibilities? Do you have no previous experience in the NHS or social care but would like to support the vaccination programme?

We are looking for registered nurses, midwives or registered healthcare care professionals to work at band 5 and 6 level. Are you already a trained peer vaccinator, or would you like to be trained to provide COVID-19 vaccinations? Many other registered health professionals can also be trained to support this programme, even if you don’t normally use this skill in your regular practice.

We are also looking for people who can help with a variety of administration work to ensure the smooth running of the vaccine centres.

There are opportunities for experienced health care assistants and trained first aiders to receive full immunisation training to deliver the vaccine under clinical supervision.

Registered GPs will be supporting practices to deliver vaccines in their local hubs and care homes.

We need people to work in a variety of locations across Lancashire and South Cumbria to vaccinate eligible groups of people. You will be employed on a flexible basis, paid for the hours that you work and have the opportunity to work a variety of different shift lengths and patterns. Vaccine centres will operate from 8am-8pm, 7 days per week.  In all roles, appropriate training, supervision and PPE will be provided to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.
