Everyone has a tongue tie, a normal structure of fibrous tissue.
The issue arises when the tongue tie is too tight or restrictive, as a restrictive tongue tie can impede tongue movement, which can lead to feeding difficulties.
This service is primarily for babies under three months old, however, we occasionally treat babies up to six months old. Please note this is not an assessment for future speech problems.
We primarily help with feeding issues with breastfed babies, but we also assesses bottle-fed babies with feeding difficulties. The purpose of the service is to inform and guide you through the process. Please consider any questions you may have for the consultation.
