SIGN UP to the first BIG NHS Walk on Sunday 23 June and support ELHT&Me, the official charity of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Join with our doctors, nurses, clinicians and hospital staff in a day to remember centred around a healthy challenge.

Registered participants of the Big NHS Walk have a choice of two, flat 12-mile routes – one starting at Burnley General Teaching Hospital and the other setting off from the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. The two routes are specially designed so that walkers get to enjoy some of the most beautiful parts of East Lancashire, and meet amazing people along the way.  All funds raised by the “Big NHS Walk”, will make a huge difference for local patients; improving the hospital environment and providing state-of-the-art medical equipment that helps your local hospital go way beyond the NHS standard.

Registration for the Walk opens on Friday 1 March at 12 noon and the charity is hoping hundreds of people will join them for what promises to be a fun-filled day.

Whether you love rambling or going for a leisurely weekend walk, or want to support your local hospitals – this is the event for you.

Walkers who sign up before the 1 May can take advantage of the early bird offer and pay just £15.

Participants receive a welcome pack, sponsor forms, access to the route app, charity t-shirt and a well-earned bespoke medal at the finish line.

“The Big NHS Walk is a fantastic event that everyone can take part in and enjoy. The Big NHS Walk is a great way to bring our community together. From conception through your life until the end of life we all turn to the NHS, this is your opportunity to show your appreciation and make a difference to our local hospitals. I am very grateful to the sponsor Business First, supporter Fagan & Whalley and to East Lancashire Freemasons for providing the marshalling team.’’ says ELHT&Me Fundraising Manager, Denise Gee.
