Most footwear styles are made from an upper (top part of the shoe) and the sole unit (bottom part of the shoe). These parts of the shoes will wear over time.

What can be repaired?

Bespoke, modular and adapted footwear can be repaired. We advise you to check your shoes regularly to see if they need to be repaired.

NOTE: Shoes that have not been adapted by the department are not eligible for repair.

How much will my repairs cost me?

You will not be charged for the repairs to your footwear.

You may be contacted for a review if the amount repairs needed in a given time are higher than expected. 

How will I know when my repairs are ready?

You will be contacted when your repairs are ready. This will usually be by mail.  Please ensure the reception has your up to date contact details.

How do I get my shoes repaired?

The department is able to accept repairs between 8:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday. You will not need an appointment. Please include your details with the footwear.

Day to day wear

  • Clean your footwear frequently using good quality shoe polish
  • Please allow your shoes to air overnight
  • Check your shoes regularly for signs of wear and tear

NOTE: Footwear is not replaced on an annual basis. It will only be replaced once it can no longer be repaired, or if your orthotist feels it is no longer suitable.​​​​​

Please do not throw away your orthotic footwear. Please contact the Orthotics department if you have any problems
