Baby Loss Awareness Week is held every year between 9 - 15 October and ends with the International Wave of Light at 7 pm on 15 October for parents to remember their baby at the same time as others across the world.

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is proud to support Baby Loss Awareness Week which sees our Lancashire Womens and Newborn Centre at Burnley General Teaching Hospital lit up pink and blue, joining hundreds of other landmark buildings across the UK raising awareness of baby loss.

Poem of choice for 2024:
Little Snowdrop, Peter Newall
The world may never notice If a snowdrop doesn't bloom, or even pause to wonder if the petals fall too soon. But every life that ever forms, or ever comes to be, Touches the world in some small way for all eternity. The little one we longed for, was swiftly here and gone. But the love that was then planted is a light that still shines on. And though our arms are empty, our hearts know what to do. Every beating of our hearts says that we love you.
