Insourcing
East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Endoscopy Services have been put under pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic seeing an increase in waiting times and delayed procedures. As a result, ELHT has enlisted support from endoscopy specific companies that provide both nurses and endoscopists to support shorter waiting times and faster diagnosis of patients in the local area.
We have enlisted insourcing companies that provide endoscopy procedures within our own units. All consultants are assessed and JAG accredited (Joint advisory Group) and are expected to have contracted hours at other hospitals. All CVs are checked prior to any consultants or nursing staff joining ELHTs endoscopy units. The insourcing teams complete an array of procedures including Diagnostic Gastroscopies, Colonoscopies, Flexible Sigmoidoscopies and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS).
