Appointment Letter
Women eligible for breast screening aged from 50 years up to their 71st birthday will automatically receive an appointment letter once every three years for a breast screening mammogram.
When you receive your letter, you will be informed of the date, time and location of your appointment.
IMPORTANT: If you are concerned about your breasts, please make an appointment to see your GP as soon as possible. Please do not wait for your appointment with the Breast Screening Service.
Manage your appointment
The Breast Screening Service is strictly by appointment only. Or you can contact the East Lancashire Breast Screening Office on 01282 805301 and someone will be able to help you.
Up-to-date personal information
Please ensure the details you have given to your GP are up-to date and correct. The National Breast Screening Service uses this information to invite you to your breast screening appointment. Text Messages
An up-to-date mobile number is very useful as reminder text messages can be sent to you regarding details of your breast screening appointment.
Please be assured that your mobile number will only be used by the East Lancashire Breast Screening Service for the purpose of reminding you of your appointment or of any changes to your appointment.
Self-referral - women over 71 years old
Women 71 years old and over are not routinely invited for a breast screening. However, if you are over 71 years old and it has been 3 years or more since your last mammogram, you can self-refer and make an appointment for breast a screen.
