Following the announcement from the health secretary, we have been informed that Public Health England are contacting women who did not receive their final routine invitation and are registered with a GP to offer the opportunity for a catch-up breast cancer screen as a matter of urgency.

NHS organisations will be working in partnership across Lancashire and South Cumbria to co-ordinate the missed screens and, at the same time, ensure that routine screening is not affected.

Women who are concerned should seek advice by calling the (free) Public Health England helpline on 0800 169 2692.
