The charity raffle held at the East Lancashire Hospitals 2019 STAR Awards on 3 May raised £2,000 for the hospital’s charity, ELHT&Me.
The annual awards celebrate staff, and recognise the high quality standard of care that staff deliver to patients across East Lancashire. At the event, a total of 15 awards were presented to teams and individuals from across the Trust.
Held at the Dunkehalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors, the event featured a charity raffle hosted by the hospital’s charity, ELHT&Me. Funds raised by the charity are spent on initiatives to improve patient environment and experience, and a total of £2,000 was raised from raffle ticket sales.
Raffle prizes included:
An Apple Watch and an Amazon Echo Dot.
A Dyson hoover, donated by hospital cleaning contractors, a personal house cleaner (for three hours) and an afternoon tea, donated by Gibbon Bridge Hotel and Restaurant.
A ‘booze hamper’, donated by ELHT Directors, a two-night break at with use of spa, donated by Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa, and a Hotel Chocolat family hamper.
A round of golf for four, donated by Prairie Sports Village, and an £150 holiday voucher, donated by Althams Holidays.
An afternoon tea, donated by Dearden Tea Rooms.
A go-kart racing session, donated by TeamSport Go Karting, a voucher for an escape room for six, donated by Escape Rooms and paintballing with lunch.
The ELHT&Me mascot, ELMORE, made a special appearance at the awards night to draw the raffle tickets.
Denise Gee, Fundraising Manager of ELHT&Me, said: “we would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff who bought tickets on the night. We have raised an amazing total and all of the money raised will make a huge difference to the care we provide to our patients.”
