Our latest ‘Employee of the Month’ accolade has been awarded to a colleague who is said to ‘actively seek out opportunities to support people whether it is classed as his job or not’.
Saraj Mohammed, Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service Assistant Manager was nominated by his colleagues after the department received several positive pieces of feedback describing his kind and supportive approach with both patients and colleagues.
An additionally notable contribution has been Saraj’s work with our local Asian communities, proactively working at the weekends in order to provide further information on the support that the Macmillan service offers.
His colleague also stated how Saraj “goes the extra mile to make sure that people receive the care that they need”. This was reflected in a recent email from a relative of a patient diagnosed with lymphoma, who explained how both the patient and his family could not speak highly enough of Saraj for the support he gave and the kindness he showed them. The relative went on to say that the patient “followed up on the advice he was given with a positive outcome, but more than this was how his positive experience left him feeling during such a dark time”.
Saraj was presented his certificate by Interim Chief Executive, Martin Hodgson who congratulated Saraj for being such a strong ambassador of our ELHT values.
