The Trust has launched its revised Patient, Carer and Family Strategy 2018 – 2021.

Attending hospital or needing care through our Community Services can be a time of worry, concern or stress for people.  At these times their experience of care should be as positive as possible.

The Strategy sets out how our staff, patients, families, carers and stakeholders can work together to ensure that our patients have the best possible experience whilst using our services.

The Patient Experience Team had a stand in main reception at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital where they met with staff and patients to talk with them about the strategy.

Emma Shaw from Blackburn with Darwen Carers Service and Sharon Hardman from Healthwatch Blackburn with Darwen also came along to support the Patient Experience Team with the launch.

Melissa Almond, Senior Patient Experience Facilitator said “It is fantastic that Emma and Sharon could join us to support the launch of the strategy.  We work closely with both the Carers Services and Healthwatch Blackburn with Darwen and Lancashire and they have contributed towards the development of the strategy”.
