NHS East Lancashire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is seeking the views of people who use, or have used East Lancashire Hospital’s Trust Treatment Room service.
This is to ensure that the CCG commissions (buys) the right services for those who need it. It will also help patients get the most out of the service and help the service to see where improvements can be made.
The Treatment Room Service is available to provide a wide range of clinical interventions to support people with the health care needs. Treatments include (but not exhaustive to):
- Ear care and wax removal - provides ear assessment and care advice. Ear syringing if required.
- Leg ulcer management and treatment – provides specialist assessment/diagnosis care and treatment of leg ulcers.
- Removal of steri-strips, sutures and staples - provides assessment of wound and removal of steri-strips, sutures and staples following trauma or surgery.
- Wound Care management – provides assessment and an extensive range of wound care and dressings.
East Lancashire CCG is responsible for commissioning (buying) health care services on behalf of local people and it is reviewing the service as part of its ongoing work to ensure that it is meeting the needs of patients who use it. The CCG commissions East Lancashire Hospitals Trust (ELHT) to deliver this service to patients living in East Lancashire.
Dr Santhosh Davis, local GP and Integrated Care Lead at the CCG said:
“Our overarching aim is to improve health and wellbeing outcomes and the quality of care for our population. We have a unique opportunity, in undertaking these service reviews to do so in partnership with patients and the public. By listening to people’s views about treatment room service we can use this information to develop and improve services which really do meet the needs of patients.
“We are asking people, about their experiences and views of the treatment room service as part of a wider stakeholder engagement campaign called ‘Your Services, Your Say’.”
People who have used this are encouraged to submit their views on the following three questions:
1. What do you like about the service?
2. What, if anything could we do better?
3. Is there anything else you would like to tell us about the service?
