The Memorial Garden at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, currently located outside of the Childrens Unit, will be moving to a new site in the hospital grounds at the start of the year.

Hospital Chaplain, Reverend Andrew Horsfall would like to invite local residents who may currently use the garden, or have done in the past, to attend a short service at the Garden on Thursday, 3 January 2019 at 1pm.

Reverend Horsfall said:

“We know what the Memorial garden means to our patients, families and staff so the service will be a mark of respect to those that have been remembered there.”

The move will allow for a brand new outdoor play area for the children’s ward, a much needed addition to the unit.  The new ‘Garden of Memories’ will be rebuilt, in a location that will allow quiet and reflection using the materials from the current garden.

More information will be available shortly but if you would like to attend the service then please email communications@elht.nhs.uk.
