Reflecting on the award Team Leader, Becky Smith, said “We often have some difficult times within the community looking after patients at the end of their lives.

“There is nothing they won't do for patients and their families to enable their last days of life to be comfortable and memorable.

“The team were recognised for going above and beyond in delivering the best quality care they can give and as their team leader I am extremely proud of them all.”

The District Nursing Team, who provide care to patients living in their own homes were nominated by Community Sister, Lucie Spence, who said: “I nominated the team for the brilliant care, compassion and commitment to the team, patients and each other.”
