Staff at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust continue to congratulate their colleagues on their hard work and successes by nominating them for Employee of the Month. This month the Trust announced their new winner, Fundraising Manager for ELHT&Me, Denise Gee.

The past few months has seen an influx in appreciation for NHS workers across the nation, with members of the public donating gifts and funds to charities to show their gratitude for the NHS. Fundraising manager, Denise Gee has shown unwavering passion for the local hospital charity and her team have been working flat out to make sure that donations are safely received and distributed.

“Denise’s positive approach to all health care workers and her ability to spread joy in times of uncertainty is truly amazing. She always greets every staff member in such a way that you have no option but to be in a better mood,” said Chris Bentley on behalf of the Health and Wellbeing team who nominated Denise. “Her motivations and pursuits are always based on continuously improving the care for service users and staff of East Lancashire.”

Denise’s work is ongoing throughout the year as her team facilitate fundraising events and offer support to those who want to channel their appreciation into raising funds for their local hospital. The charity ensures that funds and donations are used in a way that maximises the patient experience and benefits hospital services. The public were thanked for their generous response to the recent pressures:

As the award was presented, Denise expressed her gratitude and surprise at being nominated:

“I was taken by complete surprise when I was announced as Employee of the Month! I feel very proud that a whole team took their time to nominate me. I have been so consumed with the work all around us and was unaware of the real difference it was making to so many. I cannot thank everyone enough for being so kind and supportive of our work” said Denise.

“The overwhelming generosity of the public shows just how much the community really does love the NHS. Now more than ever, people want to give and thank our staff for the work they are doing for our community,” said Denise “People are directing their efforts and skills into fundraising and giving back to the workers who are keeping us safe.”
