To mark our first ever AHP Day, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust will be recognising the amazing work carried out by our Allied Health Professionals (AHPs).

AHPs are a group of health care professioanls that cover a range of disciplines and work as part of the wider team to contribute towards excellent patient care. Their varied roles include; rehabilitation, disease prevention, treatment of disease and disorders - and that doesn't even begin to cover it! Often these teams are overlooked, but the work they do every day has a real impact on the lives of our patients as well as the smooth running of our services. AHPs make up 9.2% of our workforce and are a valuable cog in the ELHT machine.

To celebrate their dedication to patients and to recognise the highly skilled work they provide we have put together some 'AHP profiles' to give you a better understanding of some of the roles under the AHP umbrella:
