East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust’s Employee of the Month accolade for April has been awarded to Laura Moores.

Laura works as a secretary and is a pivotal part of the Infection Prevention and Control Team. She has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and despite additional workloads and adapting to an ever changing situation; she maintains a high standard in her work and ensures divisions have all the necessary monthly data reports they need.

Kirsty Holt, who works with Laura, has praised her colleague by kindly saying: “Laura is extremely passionate about infection prevention and always goes the extra mile by constantly going out of her way to help patients and staff with any queries in a professional, friendly and polite manner.

“The infection prevention team and I could not perform our roles effectively without Laura’s hard work and support. The last 14 months have been extremely tough on all NHS colleagues and we are eternally grateful for having Laura as part of our team, she has provided a great deal of emotional support for everyone.

Martin Hodgson, Deputy Chief Executive, was pleased to present the award and said: “It is fantastic to see our staff continue to work so hard after what has been a very tough year for us all. I would like to personally thank Laura for displaying our Trust values on a daily basis and always directing her care towards patient and staff safety.
