The below response is in relation to children and young people, provided by the Trust’s Community Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics department.

On receipt of a diagnosis, parents are offered targeted support through attendance at an Early bird or Early bird plus program. All children and families are signposted to the National Autistic Society and local provider for autism support, Springnorth.
5. What support and further referral is routinely offered to children who undergo an assessment for autism through East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust but do not receive a diagnosis.
ELHT offer a diagnostic pathway, only on receipt of a referral to the autism pathway children and families are signposted to the National Autistic Society and local provider for autism support, Springnorth.
6. What standardised tools are currently used by East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust for the screening and/or triage of children who seek an autism assessment.
All assessments are competed against the DSM5 criteria , we also use Autism spectrum Rating Scale Questionnaires and Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule
