Trust response:
1.A) Ward Clerk
B. Patient asked to speak to member of staff, patient put their hand inside member of staff’s blouse and attempted to remove said blouse. Patient used inappropriate language. Staff attempted to remove patients’ hand and required aid of extra team members.
C) No action regarding patient - clinical incident/no cognition. Supportive actions to staff member in form of
Occupational Health services.
2. A) Care Support Worker
B) Patient used inappropriate language towards member of staff, and proceeded to hit member of staffs bottom and continued to use inappropriate language.
C) Patient clinically confused with underlying medical conditions. Checked with nurse that she is ok. Patient dealt with appropriately at the time
3. A) Staff Nurse
B) During consultation patient placed hand on member of staff’s bottom, patient was told it was inappropriate, patient then proceeded to place hand on member of staff’s breast.
C) investigated at the time by security and patient removed from the department by security. Nurse checked on by
NIC at the time. Alert on EPTS and nurse involved encouraged to seek Police input if she wishes to.
4.A) Therapist
B) Patient placed hands around member of staff’s waist and touch their breasts, patient was removed by another member of staff, and used inappropriate language toward the same member of staff.
C) EMIS warning completed and visiting in 2's for all therapy visits. Liaising with wider MDT
5.A) Healthcare Assistant
B) Patient was physically inappropriate with member of staff, attempting to hold their hand and proceeded to grab member of staff by the head.
C) spoke to patient explaining inappropriateness of actions
