Q1) In the last twelve months how many patients have been treated for Ulcerative colitis?
Of these patients how many were treated with Entyvio (vedolizumab)?
A) Between 1st January 2019 to 31st December 2019 there were 739 admissions with a primary diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis. Of this, there were 299 individual patients. We are unable to say how many patients were treated with Entyvio (vedolizumab) as this information is not recorded within the Patient Administration System or can be extracted from the Pharmacy system. In this instance we rely on the exemption provided under section 12 of the Freedom of Information act as to find this information would require a manual search of the patient records which would take longer than the 18 hours as specified under the act.
