Every child aged 0–4 has a named Health Visitor who can support you at home or at one of our network of Family Hubs and Children’s Centres.
Health Visitors are nurses with a specialist qualification giving them the skills and understanding to support the needs of your child and wider family.
Our role is to carry out assessments of your child’s health and development at key stages, as set out in the ‘Healthy Child Programme’. These assessments help us to identify any areas of support your child may need, share the information we know to support parents/carers with the aim of achieving the best possible health outcomes for your family.
We also have other staff within the team with specialist skills to help our families as needed.
