Toy donation is child’s play for league of voluntary workers
Young patients being treated at Burnley General Teaching Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre now benefit thanks to a delivery of new toys donated by the hospital’s League of Voluntary Workers.
The new toys – worth over £250 – were handed over during a visit to the Rainbows Children’s Unit by League of Voluntary Workers’ members led by Chair, Joan Carpenter.
“The League of Voluntary Workers has been proudly supporting the patients and staff at Burnley General Teaching Hospital for more than 60 years,” says Joan Carpenter.
“We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated. The support we receive from individuals and businesses helps many patients and every penny we raise goes to support Burnley General Teaching Hospital.”
The League of Voluntary Workers – who are always ready to welcome new volunteers - raise funds with a ‘Table Top Sale’ on the third Thursday of each month (10am to 3pm) in the Phase 5 Reception Area at Burnley General Teaching Hospital (next to WH Smiths).
