Join our challenge and raise money to help enhance patient and staff experience at your local hospital, by asking friends and family to sponsor you on your weight loss journey.

Make sure you’re using approved guidance to help make positive changes and lose weight! The NHS Better Health and Live Well websites have lots of information and resources to support you. And of course, being sponsored and receiving encouragement from friends and family will keep you feeling positive and motivated!

Do good and feel good with our ‘LBs to Pounds’ challenge!

How to get started:

  • Use the BMI calculator on the NHS website, here, and fill in your details. The calculator will be able to advise on how much weight to lose and a recommended calorie intake to help you drop the excess pounds.
  • NHS advice is to aim to lose 1-2lbs per week – so plan your challenge around this. There’s no time limit to the challenge, to make sure you lose weight at a healthy pace!
  • Create a JustGiving page in aid of ELHT&Me and ask friends and family to sponsor your challenge! Click here for a step-by-step guide on how to do this.
  • Share your success and support others on social media using the hashtags #ELHTandMe and #LBstoPounds

This challenge is intended for use by healthy adults with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 and over, and is not suitable for children and young people or pregnant women. If you have a medical condition, consult your GP before starting on any weight loss programme.
