A8. We have liaised with our colleagues and they have informed us that the information is not collected.
Q9 Please could you tell me if those patients presenting at your RBH ED & UCC and your BGH UCC, are segregated from those patients suffering from physical health problems?
A9 No, patients are not segregated in totality but wherever possible individual cubicles are utilised, and/or the secure room at each site.
Q10 Please could you tell me how many of your staff at the ED/UCC at the RBH & BGH are appropriately trained to offer Mental Health support to those who present with Mental ill Health?
A10 Staff are not trained to offer specific/official mental health support but are trained in conflict resolution should the need arise with any patient.

A11 Staff working within ED are familiar with the provisions of the Mental Health Act.
Q12 Could you let me have a copy of the SOP that your staff follow when presented with Mental Health Patients?
A12 We do not have SOP as such. This would be triage using the Manchester Triage System (MTS) and then a mental health risk assessment. The patient is then referred to Mental Health Liaison Team.
Q13 Are Mental Health Staff co-located within your ED/UCC?
A13 Yes where possible (mainly at the RBH site), mental Health Staff are co-located within the department.

A14 The MH improvement plan is a document owned by Lancashire Care Foundation Trust (LCFT) and should be requested from LCFT. They can be contacted by email at: Freedom.OfInformationRequests@lancashirecare.nhs.uk
Q15 Could you let me have copies of the minutes of the last 5 Multiple Agency Oversight Group (MOAG) meetings
A15 We have identified that these are chaired by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and as such LCFT are the ‘information asset owners’ of the minutes.
Should you wish to obtain copies of these minutes, then please can you contact Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust directly to request them. You can do so by either emailing Freedom.OfInformationRequests@lancashirecare.nhs.uk or writing to:
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, Sceptre Point, Sceptre Way, Walton Summit, Preston, PR5 6AW
Q16 If you hold them – Could you let me have copies of the minutes of the last 5 Mental Health Risk Summit meetings? –
A16 These are the minutes of NHS England meetings and should be requested from NHS England. They can be contacted by email at: england.contactus@nhs.net
Q17 Could you please supply me with details (numbers) of staff & other Patients who have been verbally and/or physically abused by those suffering mental ill health for the last 5 years?
A17 Although the Trust records the total number of physical and non physical assaults on staff or patients, it does not record if Mental Ill Health is the contributing factor for the assault. We can provide the total number if requested.
