Coming soon...

Your OSCE exam will be booked for the earliest available exam date after you have completed OSCE training with the ELHT clinical educators. This training lasts 7 weeks after you arrive in the UK. Your OSCE exam date will be no later than 3 months after your arrival date.

We will provide the exact date and time of your exam to you once you have arrived in the UK and started your employment with the Trust.

You will sit your OSCE exam at one of the 4 below test centres:

  • Northumbria University Test Centre – Newcastle
  • Northampton University Test Centre – Northampton
  • Leeds University Test Centre – Leeds
  • Oxford Brookes University Test Centre – Oxford

The test centre you sit your OSCE exam at will depend on which of the test centres have availability for your exam at the time the booking is made, this could be any one of the above test centres.

You get 3 attempts to pass your OSCE exam in total. An initial exam and then 2 attempts to re-sit any stations that do not pass on your first exam.

All re-sit exams are held at the same test centre you attended for your first OSCE exam.

All re-sits are booked with a 4 week gap between the re-sit and your last exam date. If a slot is not available exactly 4 weeks after your last exam then your re-sit will be booked for the earliest available slot after this.

The 4 week gap between exams is put in place to ensure our clinical education team can provide any relevant support needed to you before you re-sit your exam so we can give you the best chance of success.

If you do not pass your OSCE exam after 3 attempts, then your sponsorship and employment with the trust will be terminated. You will then be required to leave the UK within 30 days of the date your sponsorship is terminated.

The ELHT overseas recruitment team deal with all OSCE exam bookings as well as any travel and/or hotel stays needed for you attend your exam or re-sit.

Your main contacts within the ELHT overseas recruitment team in relation to OSCE bookings are:

East Lancashire Hospitals Trust cover the cost in full of your first OSCE exam sitting (£794) and any travel and hotel costs required for you to sit your first exam.

If you require a re-sit exam, the cost of the exam (£397 to re-sit 1-7 stations or £794 to re-sit 8-10 stations) and any travel or hotel costs would be paid for up front by ELHT, but these costs would then be deducted from your salary payments in equal instalments over the next 6 months. This is applicable for both your first and second re-sit exam should you require them.
