The Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Department at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is responsible for the quality and delivery of education and training for doctors and other medical staff in the Trust.
We support training programmes for:
- Foundation doctors (F1s and F2s)
- Junior Clinical Fellows (JCFs)
- Internal Medical Doctors (IMTs)
- General Practice Specialist Doctors (GPSTs)
- Specialty and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors
- Specialty Training Doctors (STs)
The department provides dedicated support for residents, including Programme Directors, regular forums for feedback and Clinical Activity Support Team. Training includes protected teaching sessions delivered by consultants, peers, and external companies to cover key aspects of the curriculum.
Staff at ELHT have access to modern postgraduate facilities on both the Blackburn and Burnley sites, including lecture theatres, training rooms, and libraries.
