The Integrated Stroke Therapy Service work across the Acute Stroke Team on Ward B2 at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital, Inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation Team on Marsden Ward at Pendle Community Hospital, and the Community Stroke Team which covers the whole of Pennine Lancashire.
As an integrated stroke therapy service, we offer stroke rehabilitation to all newly diagnosed stroke patients through to 6 months post-discharge into the community.
We provide specialist stroke services which include Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Psychology services across a variety of settings to meet patients individual needs. Therapy could include 1-1 treatment, group therapy or online rehabilitation programmes.
The Acute Stroke Unit is on level 2 at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and is a dedicated ward for those patients who have had or are suspected of having had a stroke.
