What we do

There are Children’s Outpatient Departments located at both the Burnley General Teaching Hospital and Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital sites, together with which clinics are also undertaken at Accrington Victoria Community Hospital, Rossendale Primary Care Centre, Pendle Community Hospital and Colne Health Centre.

The Children’s Outpatient Departments at Burnley and Blackburn are dedicated clinics for children and young people. Children and young people can be seen by paediatricians (children’s specialists), neonatologists (baby specialists) from and consultants from other specialities within the Trust. In addition, specialist consultants visit from Manchester and Liverpool to undertake clinics locally.

Appointments are normally sent by letter, with text reminders following nearer the date of the appointment. The reception staff will confirm your appointment on arrival and check that your details are up to date. We have a waiting area with toys and activities available.
