What we do

The Infusion Suite provides a service for multiple specialities such as

  • Oncology
  • Haematology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Endocrinology
  • Rheumatology
  • Surgery
  • Older peoples medicine
  • Dermatology
  • Hepatology

We are a nurse led unit and so the patients that are referred to us must be under a lead consultant. We deliver a wide variety of infusions and injections and run various clinics from the unit. Some treatments are a one off and we also have regular patients attending, some as often as twice a week. We have 17 treatment chairs and one cubicle which has a bed.

How to access the service

Patients are referred in via ice desktop and once the referrals have been processed by the coordinator, the patients will be contacted by the admin team on the unit with an appointment. This will either be via telephone or letter.

All patients will be provided with the units’ direct telephone number for them to call if they have any queries/wish to change their appointment. Patients will also be provided with safety netting advice for when the unit is closed and they are unable to obtain advice from us.
