A road traffic incident has occurred on the service road leading to the car park on the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital site at approximately 10am today. The incident involved the hospital shuttle bus and a car.

All drivers and passengers were able to walk away from the vehicles and are being assessed in our Emergency Department.

Due to the position of the incident, we have raised both barriers to the entrance of the car park, one of which will be used as an exit. If you are attending the site today, please be aware the one-way system will not be in use. A member of our Car Park Team will be in place to help direct traffic safely.  Please be advised that all our services remain unaffected by this incident and are functioning.

The site of the incident is under control of the Police and will be cordoned off for a period of time today to enable the Accident Investigation Team to carry out their investigation.

We appreciate your patience while our colleagues deal with this unfortunate incident.
