Jon Woodall, Founder and Managing Director of Space 48, an ecommerce agency with offices in Manchester and Bath, completed the Three Peaks Challenge with his colleagues Aaron Rickard, Jake Smith, Chris Wilson, Erica Mackay, Stephen Kenealy, Kieran Cole, Krisztian Fekete, Oliver Lees and Dan Carlyon in aid of ELHT&Me, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust’s official charity.

“My little boy, Joseph Woodall was born at Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre in August 2016. It was more than a surprise when Joseph decided to make an appearance nearly 10 weeks early!

“The doctors, nurses and medical team did an amazing job looking after Joseph and my wife, Emma. We appreciated everything they did for us and raising money completing the Three Peaks challenge felt like a great way to give something back.”

The Three Peaks Challenge involves hiking to three summits in 24 hours - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon, and after completing the challenge, the team were able to donate £2,105.51 to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), to spend on projects and initiatives to improve patient experiences beyond standard NHS funding.

Emma Heinicke, ELHT&Me Community Fundraiser, said: “We are so pleased that the Space 48 team completed the Three Peaks Challenge and the charity is delighted to accept this donation.

“It’s testament to the great care that Jon, Emma and little Joseph received that they’d like to give something back three years later. These funds will make a real difference in the future and allow is to continue to provide a high standard of care.”
