ELHT&me is the official charity of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and we are delighted to have secured the support of ISSA Foundation for local healthcare projects and initiatives.

The charity is actively fundraising with donations enabling positive improvement of the hospital environment for patients, visitors and staff; provision of state-of-the-art medical equipment; funding invaluable research; and teaching programmes. This additional investment helps us go way beyond the NHS standard.

We are really excited that local business success story, Euro Garages Limited, have, through their own charitable foundation, ISSA Foundation, committed to an ongoing partnership that will see generous support of the Trust’s charitable objectives and various initiatives. An initial, significant donation has been confirmed already that will provide equipment for the neo-natal intensive care unit, the diabetes service and our children’s ward.

Zuber Issa, Founder and Trustee of ISSA Foundation said: “Our local hospitals are deserving of all the support we can extend to them, especially in the current climate of public spending limitations. Our support will go towards enabling the local services to be even better, benefiting everyone in our area. We recognise our doctors and nurses, indeed all NHS staff, work really hard to do the best for patients and their families. This is our way of saying “thank you to all” for their efforts, and being able to improve the provision further. We are a Blackburn with Darwen company; we are based locally; and have all grown up here. We are really proud that we are in a position to give something back to our local community.’

Christine Hughes, Director of Communications and Engagement at East Lancashire Hospitals said: “This is a fantastic gesture by the owners of Euro Garages and we hope that this new partnership between us lasts for many years. We are very grateful for their generosity and will ensure that their money is well spent.”
