Hundreds of fundraisers took part in a sponsored walk to raise money for ELHT&Me, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT)’s official charity, on Saturday 7 September.

Charity supporters, including members of Trust staff, walked about eight miles in glorious sunshine, from Arnside to Kent’s Bank. The group was led by the newly appointed Queen’s official guide, Michael Wilson.

“There’s been a fantastic turn out today and a great atmosphere, plus beautiful weather. We’re so glad we completed the walk and would highly recommend taking part next year”, one walker said.
“The walk was for a great cause and we’re pleased we could have contributed!” said another participant.

All funds raised from the event will be used to improve patient experience across East Lancashire. Donations to ELHT&Me contribute to projects and initiatives that go beyond standard NHS funding, at ELHT’s five hospitals, in Blackburn, Burnley, Pendle, Clitheroe and Accrington, as well as community services across East Lancashire.

Denise Gee, Fundraising Manager for ELHT&Me, said: “We were delighted to see our supporters at the walk on Saturday, and the amazing community spirit – the atmosphere was fantastic!”

“The charity hopes to hold a similar event next year, but before then we will be hosting a range of fundraising events! You can follow the charity @ELHTandMe on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, or visit our website (www.elht.nhs.uk/charity) to keep up to date"
