Cath Eddleston

ELHT’s Employee of the Month accolade for October has been awarded to Cath Eddleston.

Cath, who works as a nurse in our endoscopy department was nominated by the family member of a patient. This is what they had to say:

“Cath is the most wonderful caring kind funny lady I have ever experienced in the nursing profession. She assured my Mum that she would be looked after on the ward and promised her that she would get her home the same day post recovery. Mum was completely at ease and almost forgot about her troubles and seemed to relax - this was because of Cath!

“There are so many things I could say that she did or said to make the experience as positive as she could. I really wanted to say thank you to especially to Cath and also the team – they didn’t just do their job yesterday they went much further and made a massive difference to a really scared patient (and her son) on a really difficult day.”

Cath was presented her award by Martin Hodgson, Deputy Chief Executive for the Trust who said:

“We at the Trust are always saying how great our staff are, but hearing it from our patients and their families makes it all the more special. I was immensely proud to be able to present Cath with the award for ‘Employee of the Month’. She is a true ambassador for ELHT and demonstrates everything the Trust stands for and its values. Well done Cath and congratulations! But above all, thank you!”
