We are an Integrated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Integrated Therapy Assistant Team who provide assessment, treatment, discharge planning and onward referral for patients across the Emergency Department/Same Day Emergency Department and the Front Door footprint, including Acute Medical Units. Where admission is necessary, we work with patients to develop goals that can be continued by the ward Therapy Teams. We work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams including IHSS, Age UK and Frailty Doctors/Advanced Clinical Practitioners.

Referrals to this service are made whilst you are an inpatient at the hospital.  These referrals are made by health professionals via the Cerner system.

Clinical care is provided across the Front Door footprint at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. The team is based on Level 1 in the Acute Therapy Department at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.
