We provide high quality healthcare services primarily to the residents of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen, which have a combined population in the region of 530,000.
East Lancashire Hospital Trusts charity, ELHT&me, are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to work in our Fundraising Team to help increase our engagement with new and existing supporters. This is a great opportunity to gain fundraising experience and to be an active and important team member to working towards improving patient experience across East Lancashire.
If you are over 16, good at communicating with people, enjoy helping others and would like to develop your own skills, we would like to hear from you.
We generally ask that all volunteers commit at least three hours a week for a minimum of six months. This generally ensures that both the volunteer and the service area benefit from the arrangement.

We are holding bag packs at Morrisons in Blackburn throughout December. Volunteers will:

You will need to work as part of a team, take instructions from the event coordinator and be flexible to support the event in the best possible way.
Volunteer Role - Charity Ambassador
Assisting the Fundraising Team with engagement, awareness and involvement
Attend events to speak, receive or promote on behalf of the charity.

Volunteer Role - Collection and Distribution Volunteer
Collection and Distribution Volunteer
As part of our fundraising we place coin-collecting tubs in local businesses and community groups.
The role is to place new tubs, look after existing tubs and be responsible for ensuring the sealed collection tubs are taken to the Hospital cashier for counting.
You will be required to report back to the Fundraising Team at regular intervals to help us keep accurate records of our collection tubs
Minimum of three hours per week to fit around availability
This role requires you to be organised, self-motivated and requires good interpersonal skills
Volunteer Role - Collection Coordinator
Volunteer Collection Coordinator
Assist the fundraising team to identify fundraising locations
To Identify places where collection boxes can be placed, collections can be held and to take action to help secure this.
Talking to companies on the telephone, internet research and then liaising with the collection team.
Excellent telephone manner
Good written and verbal communication skills

Volunteer Role - Micro Volunteer
Volunteer your way with ELHT&Me’s new bite-sized volunteering opportunities; quick, easy-to-manage actions that, small as they might seem, are still incredibly valuable.
Assisting the office team with any duties as appropriate, contributing to the efficient running of ELHT&ME
Supporting events and fundraising activities in the hospital and community
To fit around availability, from time to time to include evenings and weekends.
Able to hold conversation and willing to promote the charity in a face-to-face environment.
Volunteer Role - Mascot Volunteer - ELMORE
This role involves wearing the charity’s mascot costume, ELMORE, at fundraising and publicity events. ELMORE is a well-known and much loved character and this role would be ideal for someone looking to try something new and entertain the public.
Attending events promoting the charity dressed as the mascot
Shaking hands, dancing and posing for photographs at events, dressed as the mascot
Must be a minimum of 5’7 in height and in good health. A reasonable level of fitness is required to wear the costume.
