Simon Featherstone joined ELHT in 2025 and is an experienced senior NHS leader with a strong background in operational management, nursing leadership and service transformation.
He was appointed Chief Officer of the North Manchester Care Organisation in September 2019, leading the delivery of hospital and community services at North Manchester General Hospital as part of the Northern Care Alliance.
In his role as Chief Officer, he was responsible for the overall performance, quality, and strategic development of services across North Manchester, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality care for patients.
He provided executive leadership across a wide range of clinical and operational services, with accountability for urgent and emergency care, elective services, workforce, and financial performance.
Alongside his Chief Officer responsibilities, Simon has held senior nursing leadership roles, contributing to the development of a strong quality and safety culture and supporting the professional leadership of nursing and clinical teams.
He is committed to continuous improvement, patient-centred care and working in partnership to deliver sustainable, high-quality healthcare services.
