
Dr Shahedal Bari is a Consultant Physician and Hon Professor Lancaster University and joined the Trust in June 2025.
Dr Bari is a Honorary Clinical Professor and experienced past Executive Director in the UK with Board level experience in Provider Multisite Trust and an served as Director of Medical Education.
A rare blend of academic and healthcare leadership. He is playing a crucial part in increasing number of Medical and Allied students In Lancashire and South Cumbria.
He is a board member at RCP London national CCT Examination board, faculty member for education and takes part in UG and post graduate assessment and quality control of Medical Education.
He drove changes through compassionate leadership in UHMBT in his successful stint in the Executive Medical Director role during COVID and lead the work on pathways and clinical prioritisation to successfully to drive the Covid response. He is Principal Investigator for RECOVERY trail for COVID.
He is the Chair of the Lancashire and South Cumbria Lung Cancer Network Site Specific Group (CRG) and driving cancer care forward for the region.
He has previously led a successful assurance process leading the GMC and HEE visit to the trust and universities and Trust recovered from enhanced monitoring after HEE/GMC regulatory intervention post Kirkup.
An experienced healthcare leader with a demonstrated history of Leading Education, working in collaboration with hospitals and universities, skilled in clinical research, risk management, medical education, strategic planning to take patient care and training forward.
