Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold our normal awards ceremony in 2020 or 2021 and the awards for the 2019 nominations were presented via a virtual ceremony in 2021.
We are delighted that we are now able to able to take this opportunity to thank ALL colleagues across ALL of our services for the commitment they have given to delivering safe, personal and effective care to our patients throughout the most challenging times known to the NHS.
Our STAR awards recognise those that have gone above and beyond to provide care for our patients, to support fellow colleagues or assist the Trust in its everyday work.
This year we are proud to introduce our new inclusivity award giving you 13 categories covering all aspects of ELHT life to choose life. The full criteria for each award can be found below:

The closing date for nominations is midnight, 27 May 2022.
We will not be able to accept applications that arrive after this date.
Terms and conditions:
- Nominations can be made by all employees of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
- Nominations must be for actions undertaken between the period of 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2022
- Nominees must be current employees of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, students in training or volunteers within the Trust.
- Nominators must include their own details (e.g. name and email address) for the purpose of judging and to let them know if their nominee is short-listed!
- Nominators can only nominate an individual or team in one category. However, nominators can nominate separate individuals or teams in as many categories as desired.
- Nominations must be made on the official nomination form and completed in full.
- Each nomination must be submitted separately.
- Short-listing will be conducted by a cross-divisional panel in June 2022.
- The published criteria will be used to judge each award.
- The decisions of the judging panel will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the decisions made.
- Short-listed individuals and teams will be invited to our new Awards Virtual Ceremony - details to be announced nearer the time.
